Patriots’ Rob Ninkovich announces retirement after 11 seasons

Rob Ninkovich is calling it a career.

The Patriots’ veteran defensive end on Sunday announced his retirement from football after playing 11 seasons in the league.

The announcement came at New England’s Sunday afternoon press conference at Gillette Stadium, though the team hadn’t specified the nature of the presser beforehand.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Fuller will undergo surgery later Wednesday and is expected to be missing in action for two to three months as he heals.

Fuller’s NFL career was off to a promising start, as he recorded 107 and 104 receiving yards, respectively, in his first two games last season. However, his rookie campaign began to slump as his production declined beginning in Week 3. He ended the season with just 47 catches for 635 yards and two touchdowns.

Eager to rebound from what he called a tough rookie season, Fuller will instead spend a good portion of the upcoming season on the bench.

Fuller, 23, was selected by Houston with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The former Notre Dame standout started 13 of the 14 games he played in last year.

They may very well be the worst team in the NFL next season, but if they execute their rebuild right, it could be a nice landing spot for Cousins. There’s a good chance they’ll make a better offer for him than anyone else will. If the defense can perform at 2009-10 Mark Sanchez-era levels while giving him adequate weapons on offense, maybe the Jets could be saved after all.

Cousins would be on the short list of quarterbacks who could blow a 28-3 lead. So Cheap Girls Softball Jerseys in a strange world where somehow the Falcons lost Matt Ryan and could Cheap Heat Jerseys add Cousins, he’d probably only add to the heartbreak Falcons fans have suffered since 1966. I can’t say the fan base needs more of that.
